The Deliberation Over Family Separation

Image
In Charleston, protesters gathered at the steps of the Customs House on Wednesday to rally against the separation of families at the border. The majority of the news coverage and the focus of the media this week was on the family separation crisis that is currently happening at the US-Mexico border. As of Wednesday afternoon, President Trump  signed an executive order that preserved his zero tolerance policy but ended family separation. This means that all migrants crossing the border illegally will be prosecuted, but parents will no longer be separated from their children.             This order is only possible because of the amount of pressure and outrage that has been leveled against the Trump administration for enacting this new policy. Analyzing Elections: South Carolina Edition

Katie Arrington celebrating last night following her major upset victory over Mark Sanford. That makes this election all the more crucial. Without further ado, here are my endorsements: Congress:   -Republican Primary: Mark Sanford . He is a solid pick for the Republicans. He is a moderate who does not mindlessly throw himself behind President Trump like his competition, Katie Arrington. He supports Trumps economic policies with few exceptions but also knows to look out for the best interests of the Lowcountry by opposing Trumps offshore drilling proposal which would have negatively effected South Carolinas coastline. He is by no m...
